Project description:
The Kuvenat Centre project aims to improve public and community infrastructure through the establishment of the Kuvenat Interpretation and Exhibition Centre, representing an integrated approach to the revitalisation and interpretation of the cultural, historical and natural heritage of the Pelješac Peninsula. The project encompasses the archaeological sites of Nakovana, with particular emphasis on the Spila Nakovana cave, and Zakotorac, as well as the historic building of the former Dominican Monastery of Kuvenat in the village of Viganj, which will be converted into an interpretation centre. The project is being implemented within the Natura 2000 ecological network site SPA Central Dalmatian Islands and Pelješac, highlighting the importance of preserving natural assets and ensuring the sustainable management of protected areas.
