Project Description:

The CircleWaste project deals with the scaling up eWASTE circular economy in the Adrion region. Namely, the amount of electrical and electronic waste grows much faster than other categories of waste. The objective of the 2019 EU Directive is to establish a collection rate of 65% of all eWASTE placed on the market in the last three years. However, many EU member states fail to achieve this objective. An additional problem is in the illegal disposal of such waste, which contains toxic substances and brings with it negative effects on the environment and human health.

In order to improve the circular economy of electrical and electronic waste, the project partners will develop the Transnational Strategy for promotion of eWASTE circular economy in the Adrion region, which will later be adapted to the needs of the partners and their target areas through Territorial Action Plans. Regional agency DUNEA, in cooperation with local stakeholders, will adopt a Territorial Action Plan and technical solutions that will improve the eWASTE circular economy system in Dubrovnik-Neretva County.
