Project Description:
The ClimBeach project aims to develop a multiphysical and multitechnological solution to address the negative impacts of climate change on coastal areas and increase beach resilience to erosion and flooding. The project will implement a specific monitoring system to track meteorological and climatic variables, seawater dynamics, and volumetric changes in beach areas. Additionally, an IT tool called BeachCloud will be developed to integrate monitoring data, assess erosion and flooding risks, and evaluate the effectiveness of mitigation measures. The beach adaptation strategy to climate change impacts will be based on these data, including both short-term and long-term measures. The project will enable better planning and sustainable management of beach areas in the involved regions. In the Dubrovnik-Neretva County area, DUNEA will implement a monitoring system at four beaches and conduct the revitalization of Janska Bay as a model of best practices, ensuring environmental preservation and resilience to climate change.
